Dessert

What is the ending to a perfect meal?  In Europe, the last thing on the menu is usually a strong cup of coffee that keeps the night going just a little longer. In the USA, we generally like to drink our coffee first, or in the morning.
There is nothing more American than apple pie, our national identity is tied to an amazing dessert. The one thing we all seem to love is a sweet treat after a filling dinner.  Ice cream, cookies, cakes and much more.  Every restaurant would like to tempt you with a tray of delectable delicacies to tickle the pallet. There is always some room for a little pie.  We even have desserts named for cities! Ever had some New York cheesecake?  If not, you haven’t lived.
Kids are the biggest supporters of dessert.  One of the only ways to get a picky eater to finish their greens is to tempt with a popsicle or a hot fudge Sunday. One of the ways that many parents, especially in the US south, is by sharing a dessert with the family.  Things like Sonker and Beignets just to name a few.
In the modern era, we have found that many delicious treats from around the world do not have to be super sweet or cloying and can feature amazing flavors of spice that entice and delight.
